It was a major decision to leave my captive carrier and strike out as an independent agency. I knew we had to make a move and looked into all the networks. There were some that required no fees up front and I am glad I did not go that way. We made back in bonus money year 1 to cover the fees and it has gotten better each year. We have a great variety of codes with carriers that we would not have been able to get on our own and the negotiated commissions and bonus are better that we would have been able to obtain on our own. It was and still is a great fit for us.
